Decided to have an impromptu photo session, but don't have a laptop with you? Nowadays, that's no longer a problem because you can edit even with just your smartphone! With the Adobe Lightroom Photo & Video Editor app, you now have quick and easy edits in the palm of your hand. Having this app means you can process pictures professionally anytime, anywhere.

Like the PC version, it allows you to edit a photo's contrast, exposure, colour temperature, and more. It also has various presets and filters, so you can make hassle-free changes instantly. And if you want to do more advanced stuff but are in a hurry, there are also new AI features that may be of use to you. Below are some examples of how the Lightroom Photo & Video Editor's AI features could help you.

Removing pesky photobombers

Say you're out on a holiday in October and visit a garden where the trees are red and starting to shed leaves. It's the perfect time to take a snap! But someone photobombs you, what now? No worries, Adobe's Lightroom Photo & Video Editor app has just the function you need - a feature known as Generative Remove.

With Generative Remove, that photobomber is no longer an obstacle. All you need is a few quick taps to remove the person from your photo. More importantly, it's not the kind of crop that erases that part of the photo. Instead, the app can scan the photo's background and use it to fill in the missing area. Not only is this feature useful for removing photobombers, but it could also be used to remove any object or subject you want from the background of a photo.

Step 1: Target the photobomber; Step 2: Remove him from the picture (literally); Step 3: Check your result

Not satisfied? Redo the removal with Generative AI enabled

It's a simple process too. First, you select the image to edit. When you get to the editing screen, tap on the eraser icon on the bottom right. Now, you can 'erase' the photobomber from the background and the AI will 'fill' in the removed area. If you see glaring imperfections in the result, reset the image and try again after enabling "Generative AI".

Better blur effects

Another interesting feature is Lens Blur. Essentially an AI-powered version of the regular camera Bokeh effect, Lens Blur provides users with more control over the blur effect. Like Bokeh, Lens Blur is great for those scenic landscape shots.

So, how is Lens Blur different from a smartphone camera app's Portrait mode? Well, Lens Blur doesn't apply a single preset blur effect when you take a picture. Instead, it lets you modify the photo after you've taken it. When using Lens Blur, you'll see a slider to adjust the degree of blur you get. This gives you more control over how you want the results to look.

Not only does the app let you control the blur amount, but it also lets you pick the blur effect and preferred focus range

In addition, you can choose from seven blur effects using the presets available. The presets include Circle, Bubble, 5-blade Ring, and Cat eye in the mobile app. Each one offers slightly different results, so pick the one that best suits the image being edited. You could also create a custom preset and save it for future use. Lastly, you can adjust the focus range for Lens Blur to blur different parts of the photo. This can be handy if you have multiple subjects and want to focus on a particular one.

Wait, there's more!

Besides the above, Adobe Lightroom Photo & Video Editor offers a variety of other features. There are adaptive presets, over 200+ premium preset filters, a Reels maker for Instagram, and more. If you're an Adobe Premium subscriber, you can even upload your images to a 1TB cloud storage for more post-edits later.

All the features above are available on Adobe Lightroom, now accessible not only via a PC but also on a smartphone or tablet.
