Aside from the new REDMI Note 15 Series, Xiaomi Malaysia expanded its AIoT portfolio with the local launch of the REDMI Buds 8 Lite. Available in Black, White, and Blue, the entry-level model emphasises ease of use, fast charging, and a durable exterior designed for daily wear.
The REDMI Buds 8 Lite Features
To begin, the REDMI Buds 8 Lite has a 12.4 mm titanium diaphragm driver and can connect over Bluetooth 5.4, as well as support AAC and SBC audio codecs. Despite the entry-level positioning, the earbuds include hybrid active noise cancellation rated at up to 42dB across a wide frequency range. Using both feedforward and feedback microphones, the ANC system targets low-frequency ambient noise for quieter listening.
For voice calls, the earbuds rely on a dual microphone setup with AI-powered environmental noise cancellation. The system focuses on isolating the user’s voice while suppressing background sounds, even in outdoor conditions with wind speeds of up to 6m per second. A Transparency mode is also included to help users remain aware of their surroundings when needed.
Users can tailor the sound profile through five preset EQ modes that enhance bass, vocals, or treble, with additional custom tuning available via the Xiaomi Earbuds app. The earbuds also support dual device connectivity, allowing them to stay connected to two devices at once and automatically switch based on the active audio source.
Last but not least, the REDMI Buds 8 Lite can deliver up to two hours of playback from just ten minutes of charging. Combined battery life reaches up to 36 hours when used with the charging case.
Price and Availability in Malaysia
The REDMI Buds 8 Lite will be available in Malaysia starting 15 January for RM129. For a limited time, the promotional price is now RM79, and they can be purchased at Xiaomi stores nationwide, through mi.com, and via official Xiaomi stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
