Today, Xiaomi has officially introduced its latest tablet lineup in Malaysia with the new REDMI Pad 2 9.7 Series. The launch includes the standard REDMI Pad 2 9.7 alongside a 4G-enabled variant, offering users a more compact and portable addition to the existing Redmi tablet portfolio.
Positioned as an entertainment-focused device, the new series brings a range of upgrades over its predecessor, including a larger display, improved battery capacity, enhanced performance, and a slimmer overall design.
The REDMI Pad 2 9.7 Series Tech Specs and Features
A key highlight of the REDMI Pad 2 9.7 Series is its 9.7-inch display, which features a sharp 2K resolution that supports a wide colour gamut for more accurate and lifelike image reproduction. To enhance the viewing experience further, the display supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate, triple TÜV Rheinland certifications for eye care, and up to 600 nits brightness in Outdoor mode.

Powering the device is a 7600mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims can deliver up to 1.7 days of usage on a single charge. This positions the tablet as a reliable option for extended entertainment sessions without frequent charging. Under the hood, the tablet runs on the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 mobile platform built on a 6nm process, as well as shipping with Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which enhances interconnectivity features such as a shared clipboard, allowing seamless copying and pasting between smartphones and tablets. The inclusion of Circle to Search by Google also simplifies visual search directly from the screen.
Pricing and Availability in Malaysia
The REDMI Pad 2 9.7 Series is now available nationwide through mi.com, as well as official Xiaomi stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. Pricing starts from RM569 for the base WiFi model, while the 4G variant begins at RM649. Higher storage configurations are also offered, with the 4GB + 128GB models priced at RM599 for the WiFi version and RM699 for the 4G model.
As part of the launch promotion, customers will receive a complimentary tablet cover with their purchase. That's all, folks. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
