You may not know this but Sony has been releasing the the REON Pocket series in Japan since the pandemic started five years ago. The wearable thermo-device kit never really came to Malaysia but it's officially announced that the REON Pocket 5 is now available.
To the uninitiated, the REON Pocket 5 can be worn at the back of the neck to cool or warm the body surface directly at the body contact area. According to Sony, the newly designed model features an enlarged thermo-module and newly structured heat dissipation fan which offers improved cooling efficiency and airflow, resulting in up to 1.5 times higher cooling performance compared to the conventional model.
The REON Pocket 5 has five COOL Levels that can deliver powerful cooling and run for up to 1.8 times longer – for approximately 7.5 hours at COOL Level 4. In addition, the latest REON POCKET 5 functions quietly by reducing operating noise by up to one-fifth. It even has a WARM Mode function that intuitively adjusts to the ambient temperature.
To improve the cooling function of the REON Pocket 5, the REON Pocket Tag is equipped with the latest software that detects direct sunlight, which enables RNPK–5T to quickly adjust to preset temperatures at 33% faster as compared to previous versions of the software. Featuring 8 sensors, the two devices can deliver the most accurate temperature control and can be used for up to 10 hours when used in "SMART COOL⇔WARM MODE”.
Besides Malaysia, the REON Pocket 5 is also launched in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and the United Kingdom, in addition to Japan and Hong Kong. Available in white, the main unit costs RM799 and comes bundled with a dedicated neckband and the REON Pocket Tag. You can probably find it in any Sony-authorised stores across the nation.
