Considering the recent emergence of new clusters and the number of daily cases, our Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has announced that the RMCO (Recovery Movement Control Order) will be extended until 31 December. The previous RMCO announced has lasted from 7 June to 31 August.

The Prime Minister said that Malaysia has been able to successfully control the spread of Covid-19 infections, but sporadic outbreaks continued to occur. Therefore, "the government still needs a legal mechanism to continue efforts to prevent and control the spread of Covid-19", and that is the RMCO. He also added that the extension of RMCO is not going to affect our usual daily activities as long as the new normal is being practised and the established SOPs are followed.

As the Covid-19 pandemic has not come to an end yet, we need to continue to be responsible by following all the rules and regulations made by our government. Practising social distancing, wearing a mask, washing hands regularly and more are still the things that we need to do although the crisis has been handled well recently. Stay healthy!
