Finally after some time, ASUS ROG officially unveiled the new ROG Ally X. Do keep in mind that it's not a new successor but rather a new upgraded version of the ROG Ally. Here's everything you need to know about the revamped PC gaming console device.

As we reported before, the ROG Ally X is confirmed to have a new 1TB SSD of storage. Not only that, it uses a redesigned motherboard featuring an M.2 2280 form factor slot, allowing users to easily upgrade their storage to larger drives than previously possible. On top of the storage upgrade, it also got a massive 24GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM.

While the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme remains the same, the biggest upgrade is perhaps the 80Wh battery which is twice as much as the previous model. And despite a sizeable improvement in battery life, the ROG Ally X only weighs 70 grams more than the original ROG Ally. It's also in black and the design looks more or less the same but with a tiny change to be more ergonomic.

Additionally, the joysticks have been replaced with new, more durable modules rated for a 5-million-cycle lifespan, with stiffer springs. The D-Pad has been similarly improved, with more precise eight-direction input for fighting and retro games. Also, the original XG Mobile port has been replaced with two USB-C Thunderbolt ports.

To house the new 80Wh battery pack, ASUS integrated new fans that are 23% smaller, but utilize 50% thinner fan blades to improve airflow. Two new tunnels in the fan housing direct air up and out toward an additional, third exhaust vent on the upper edge of the ROG Ally X. This new thermal solution provides 24% more air volume to be pushed through the device, cooling up to 6°C.

No price and availability for the ROG Ally X has been announced yet, but we think there's a good chance for it to come into Malaysia this year. Until then, stay tuned for the official announcement by ASUS Malaysia only at TechNave.com.
