Today, ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) just announced another new member of the ROG Phone 6 series. Powered by the latest MediaTek flagship chipset, there are the ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate and here's everything you need to know.
So what's so ultimate about the new ROG Phone 6D series? Well, the main highlight that ASUS wanted to highlight is the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate. It now has an all-new AeroActive Portal feature, a heat-dissipation 'door' that works in conjunction with the AeroActive Cooler 6. The company said the thermal surface area is increased by up to 9X, and thermal efficiency is boosted by up to 20% when the AeroActive Portal is activated.
On top of that, the GameCool 6 cooling system has been upgraded with a 30% larger vapour chamber and 85% larger graphite sheets, along with a centered-CPU design to increase heat dissipation from the core. Combined with the performance manager in Armoury Crate, the ROG Phone 6D series allows gamers to tune performance settings for different games.
Another new feature is the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ 5G chipset that is on both ROG Phone 6D models. Compared with Dimensity 9000, ASUS said that it has more than 10% performance improvement. Furthermore, it's also accompanied by up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. On the other hand, the 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED display also now has HDR10+ and still reaches up to a 165Hz refresh rate and 720Hz touch sampling rate.
Besides that, the 6000mAh battery pack and 65W HyperCharge technology remain, the same goes for the 50MP (main) + 13MP (ultrawide) + macro triple rear camera, alongside a 12MP front camera. As for the prices, the ROG Phone 6D comes in either 12GB or 16GB of RAM + 256GB of storage starting from €949 (~RM4306). Meanwhile, the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate (16GB + 512GB) is €1399 (~RM6348).
We have no word if the ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate are coming to Malaysia or not, but ASUS will hold an influencer tournament, where 10 influencers from 6 countries — including Germany, the UK, France, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand — will interact and compete with ROG fans on Tier-1 game titles. This tournament will be held between September and November, according to product availability in each market.
