For those unaware, ASUS announced new ROG Strix series laptops in May. These gaming laptops would feature the Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs and were to officially land here soon. Earlier today, ASUS confirmed that these laptops are now available in Malaysia. Here's a recap of the specs, features, and pricing for the new ROG Strix G16 (2025) G614 and G615 laptops.
Tech specs and features
The G614 and G615 models are identical in design and features, but have some differences in internal specifications. While the G614 houses an AMD Ryzen 9 processor (up to 9955HX), the G615 has an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor instead. In addition, the former's choice of GPU includes the RTX 5050, RTX 5060, and RTX 5070 Ti. On the other hand, the G615's options are: RTX 5060, RTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5080.
For the screen, both laptops feature a 16-inch ROG Nebula Display with a 2.5K resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. The G614 also has the option for a 16-inch IPS display with a 165Hz refresh rate. In terms of cooling, the Strix G16 laptops feature three fans, a full-width heatsink, and full-surround vents. According to ASUS, the G615's cooling system can lower its CPU's temperature by up to 15°C.
Price and availability
As confirmed, the ROG G16 (2025) is now available in Malaysia. The price for the G614 model starts from RM6999, while the G615's prices start from RM6599. ASUS Malaysia is also including an ROG Backpack and a 3-month PC Game Pass as part of the deal.
