If you're a gamer with plenty of funds to splurge, here's a piece of news you might be interested in. ASUS had lots of products to show off at this week's Computex 2026, and among them is the ROG XBOX Ally X20 bundle. Does it offer anything new or interesting? Let's find out.
ROG's 20th anniversary
To celebrate the Republic of Gamer's (ROG) 20th anniversary, ASUS has announced a brand-new ROG XBOX Ally X20 bundle at Computex 2026. This bundle includes an XBOX Ally X20 handheld console and an XREAL R1 Edition 20 gaming AR glasses. It's a setup that would allow gamers to enjoy a more luxurious gaming experience on the go.
ROG XBOX Ally X20
This special edition ROG XBOX Ally X was designed to be a high-powered gaming device and a collector's item. The console features a translucent black plastic chassis that gives gamers a peek at its gold-accented internal structure, offering a different appeal compared to the standard model.
Compared to the standard ROG XBOX Ally, most of the XBOX Ally X20's hardware is the same. It sports an AMD Z2 Extreme APU, 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. A notable upgrade is the Nebula HDR Display, a 7.4-inch OLED panel with a 1920x1080px resolution, a variable refresh rate (VRR) of 30 to 120Hz, and a 1400-nit peak brightness.
Since OLED panels are more sensitive to heat than LCD screens, the ROG XBOX Ally X20's cooling system delivers improved airflow to the APU, keeping the display's surface temperatures as low as possible. Besides that, the new Transforming D-Pad can change from the standard 4-way D-Pad to an eight-way D-Pad to better suit fighting games. On top of that, the console features improvements to the face buttons, rubberised rear handgrips, and TMR joysticks.
ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20
As mentioned, this special edition handheld is bundled with an ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 gaming AR glasses. Upon wearing the glasses, you can enjoy greater visual immersion through the 171-inch virtual screen. It has a 240Hz refresh rate, 4 meters, 0.01ms response time, and a 1920x1080px resolution. The micro-OLED panels on the glasses can also cover 95% of your field of view. These glasses also come with Native 3DoF to track head movements and an Anchor Mode to keep the screen in place as you play.
Price and availability
