Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) has announced that channel TV6 will end its broadcasting effective 1 July 2026. This was announced through a notification stating that TV6 would no longer be broadcasting from that date. However, RTM has so far not provided further explanation regarding the termination of TV6's broadcast.
For your information, TV6 was a retro-concept television channel that began trial broadcasts on 1 March 2021. The channel featured a variety of content from the RTM archives, including dramas, films, cartoons, entertainment shows, documentaries and classic programs that were aired over the past few decades.
It was nice while it lasted
Throughout its operating period, TV6 could be watched via MYTV channel 113 and the RTMKlik platform. Personally, we feel it’s a bit of a shame such a channel had to end because the concept felt fresh and unique in Malaysia.
