Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli today announced that a total of 11.55 million or 52.6 per cent of Malaysians aged 18 and above have updated their info on the Central Database Hub (PADU) as of the deadline yesterday. This makes a total of 17.65 million or 58.7 per cent of the people’s profiles updated on the database, including those aged under 18 years old.

In a press release, Rafizi thanked the PADU development team at the Economy Ministry, Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), National Digital Department, Communications Ministry and other government agencies that helped in implementing PADU. Furthermore, the Economy Minister also thanked all Malaysians for taking the initiative to register for PADU.

He also shared the percentage of Malaysians above 18 years old who registered for PADU according to the states below:

Rafizi then said that the Economy Ministry would be tabling the plan for targeted subsidies to the Cabinet this month. Any announcements on the matter will be made by the Federal Government soon.

The Economy Minister also said that for those who didn’t manage to update their info on PADU, existing administration data is enough for the government to determine individual eligibility for targeted subsidies. Moreover, should it be required, the Economy Ministry will be reopening PADU registration temporarily for updating info after the Federal Government has decided on the targeted subsidy mechanism.
