As we’ve alluded to previously, ZTE and Nubia subsidiary Red Magic today launched its latest flagship in China, the Red Magic 9 Pro series. Comprising the 9 Pro and 9 Pro+, both devices feature top-of-the-line specs, which you can read in-depth below.
Both devices share almost all the same specs and features except for battery size and charging speeds. Under the hood, they’re powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 paired with LPDDR5X RAM, with the 9 Pro offered in 12GB RAM while the 9 Pro+ is offered in either 16GB or a whopping 24GB of RAM.
They’re both also equipped with UFS4.0 storage, the 9 Pro is offered in either 256 or 512GB, while the 9 Pro+ is offered by up to 1TB. For cooling, both devices have the updated ICE13 cooling system which covers a total area of 10,182mm2 that Red Magic claims can lower the temperature by up to 18 degrees Celsius.
Display-wise, both feature a flat 6.8-inch 120Hz AMOLED with a resolution of 1116 x 2480 pixels and up to 1600 nits peak brightness. There’s a fingerprint scanner embedded underneath the screen which cleverly doubles as a heart rate monitor.
Camera-wise, the selfie shooter is a 16MP camera embedded underneath the display, while the main camera setup at the rear is a 50MP main + 50MP ultra-wide. The difference between the two is that the 9 Pro has a 6500mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging while the 9 Pro+ has a 5500mAh battery with 165W charging.
Other notable specs of the two include Bluetooth 5.3, an IR blaster, a 3.5 audio jack, Android 14 via Red Magic OS 9.0 and colour options of either black, white transparent or black transparent. Here’s the 9 Pro series’ price list in China:
