The RedMagic Astra gaming tablet is now available globally, starting at around RM2590 for the base model (€499). So, what should you know about it?

While Malaysia is not officially included in the initial rollout, the device could still reach local shelves through importers or future releases.
What happened
Previously known in China as the Gaming Tablet 3 Pro, the RedMagic Astra offers a 9.06-inch OLED display with a 2400 × 1504 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate.
Additionally, the screen delivers up to 1600 nits peak brightness and has TÜV Rheinland certification for reduced blue light, making it suitable for extended use.
Moreover, the device is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 24GB RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 Pro storage. It runs on RedMagic OS 10.5, based on Android 15 and incorporates the Cube Game Engine to optimise performance for demanding titles.
Furthermore, an 8200mAh battery supports 80W fast charging and features bypass charging to reduce heat during gameplay. The cooling system includes a vapour chamber and an active heat dissipation design to maintain consistent performance.
Plus, the connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2. Audio is handled by dual stereo speakers, and the device also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Global pricing starts at $549 (about RM2600) for the entry-level model, going up to $899 (about RM4250) for the top configuration. Availability for higher-end variants may vary depending on region and stock.
