Today, Xiaomi Malaysia announced another new budget-friendly device - the Redmi 13C. It's now available for purchase across Malaysia at the recommended retail price of RM499.

The Facebook post announcement nor Xiaomi Malaysia's website (not yet) didn't reveal much information on the tech specs. But on the official Xiaomi Global site, it's revealed that the Redmi 13C features a 6.74-inch 90Hz display, a 5000mAh battery pack with 18W fast charging, and a 50MP AI primary camera + 2MP macro lens, as well as an 8MP front camera.

The octa-core processor wasn't specified as well, but it's using the same MediaTek Helio G85 chipset as the predecessor. The phone has three memory configuration variants, but judging from our local set, the Redmi 13C in Malaysia is using 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Virtual RAM expansion and expandable storage are available with up to 6GB and 1TGB, respectively.

Other than that, it's worth mentioning that the Redmi 13C also sports a side fingerprint sensor, AI face unlock, NFC support and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. The 3.5mm audio jack is also present but no 5G is available. Finally, it runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13.
