Update: Xiaomi has changed the release date for the Redmi A2+ to 9 May 2023.
Xiaomi Malaysia today announced that a new budget smartphone under its Redmi sub-brand will be coming to our country soon, the Redmi A2+. Available from 30 April 2023, read on to find out more about the smartphone.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Helio G36 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. As for the battery, there’s a 5000mAh cell with support for 10W charging via the micro-USB port.
The display is a 6.52-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The screen sports a water-drop notch which houses a 5MP selfie camera.
As for the rear shooters, the A2+ has an 8MP camera assisted by a depth sensor. Other notable specs include dual SIM, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 5.0, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and colour options of either Light Green, Light Blue or Black.
Based on the announcement on Xiaomi Malaysia’s official Facebook page, the A2+ will only be offered in a singular 3/64GB configuration at RM399.
