Redmi A3 release - Helio G36 SoC and 90Hz LCD from ~RM421

Xiaomi subsidiary Redmi has just released its latest budget offering in India, the Redmi A3. Featuring some compelling specs at a low price point, read on to find out more about the device. 

The A3 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G36 SoC paired with either 3,4 or 6GB RAM and up to 128GB of storage. Under the hood, there’s also a 5000mAh battery with support for 10W charging via the USB-C port.

Screen-wise, it’s a 6.71-inch 90Hz LCD with an HD+ resolution and a tear-drop notch housing the 5MP selfie shooter. The main camera setup is at the back, sporting an 8MP main camera paired with a secondary sensor. 

Other notable specs include a 3.5mm audio jack, a microSD card slot, dual SIM, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.3 and colour options of either Olive Green, Midnight Black or Lake Blue. In India, the A3 starts at INR7299 or ~RM421 for the base 3/64 model and goes up to INR9299 or ~RM536 for the 6/128GB version.
