
Xiaomi subsidiary Redmi today launched a new entry-level 5G smartphone in India, the Redmi A4 5G. Featuring some compelling specs for the price, read on to learn more.
Under the hood, the A4 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64/128GB storage. Battery-wise, it’s a 5160mAh cell which supports 18W charging via the USB-C port.

Meanwhile, the display is a 6.88-inch 120Hz LCD with an HD+ resolution with 600 nits peak brightness and a water-drop notch housing the 5MP main camera. At the rear, the main camera is a 50MP shooter.
Other notable specs include a 3.5mm audio jack, 5G connectivity, dual SIM + microSD card hybrid slot, an IP52 rating, Android 14 via HyperOS, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and colour options of either Sparkle Purple or Starry Black. In India, the A4 5G starts at INR8499 or ~RM450, with global availability yet to be announced.
