It has been a while since the Redmi Note 15 series was launched in China. But just a few hours ago, Redmi India officially began teasing the global release of the Redmi Note 15 5G. The teaser activity follows early retailer listings in Europe, which suggest that multiple models from the Redmi Note 15 series are preparing to enter global markets.

What to Expect From the Global Redmi Note 15 5G

Based on leaks and early certifications, the global Redmi Note 15 5G is expected to feature a 6.77-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and be powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. In addition, the camera hardware is expected to include a 108MP main rear sensor alongside an 8MP ultra-wide camera, while selfie duties are reportedly handled by a 20MP front camera.

Battery life should remain a key selling point, with leaks suggesting a capacity of around 5520mAh and support for 45W fast charging. Additional features are tipped to include IP65 dust and splash resistance and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Global vs China Variant

As with many previous Redmi launches, the global version of the Note 15 5G may differ slightly from its China-only counterpart. Reports indicate that the global model could feature a lower water-resistance rating and potential adjustments to battery capacity or charging specifications.

Such changes are common when Xiaomi adapts devices for different regions, often to meet certification requirements, manage costs, and optimise compatibility with global networks. Buyers should pay close attention to whether they are purchasing a true global model, especially if the device is imported. Network band support, warranty coverage, and software localisation can differ significantly between China and global variants.

Anything Else To Expect?

Early European listings point to a starting price of around €299 (~RM1.4K) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, further reinforcing expectations that Redmi’s next mid-range 5G phone will land internationally in the near future. For markets like Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, the global version could be especially appealing if pricing remains aggressive while retaining its core hardware strengths.

Redmi is a very popular phone brand in Malaysia, so we can expect the global launch date to be the same or if not, at least a day apart from the release in India. Stay tuned for the official announcement by Xiaomi Malaysia, only at TechNave.com.
