For most smartphone manufacturers, the selling point is the chipset, display, and camera. Many flagships now feature the same set of hardware, so it's harder for a specific phone to stand out. But the Redmi K90 Pro Max could have something worth noticing.
2.1-channel audio system
It seems new technologies have made high-quality speakers for smartphones a possibility, as Redmi plans to show with its upcoming Redmi K90 Pro Max. Yesterday, Redmi revealed that the K90 Pro Max would have 2.1 stereo speakers tuned by Bose. As you may know, the 2.1 here refers to having two speakers and a subwoofer.

That's right, the Redmi K90 Pro Max will feature a woofer. The company described it as an "extra-large independent woofer" for "deeper, fuller and more powerful low frequencies". Thanks to Digital Chat Station, there's even a demo of the phone's sound system in action. In my opinion, it sounds a little 'airy' and lacks the solid thump of larger speaker systems. However, I do find it better than the average flagship phone.
Expected specs and features
In addition, we have other specs of the Redmi K90 Pro Max. The phone is expected to have a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a 6.9-inch OLED display, and a periscope camera with a 5x optical zoom. It's also going to feature a massive 7560mAh battery, 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W reverse charging.

POCO F8 Ultra?
As you may know, the Redmi K series is usually rebranded as a POCO device for the global market. While it hasn't been confirmed, the Redmi K90 Pro Max could launch globally as a POCO F8 series model. Perhaps rebranded as the POCO F8 Ultra? Of course, it's also possible for Redmi to keep the phone exclusive to China.
