The upcoming Redmi Note 15 Pro+ Satellite Edition is set to launch in China by August, with an estimated starting price between USD280 and USD310 (around RM1300 to RM1450).
This model will be Redmi’s first to feature satellite messaging, a connectivity feature previously limited to high-end flagship smartphones.
A new model coming soon
Redmi is preparing to introduce satellite messaging for the first time in its product lineup with the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ Satellite Edition. Priced around RM1300 to RM1450, this new edition will be available in China beginning August 2025.
The satellite edition is expected to be offered as a region-specific variant, while the standard Note 15 Pro+ model without satellite functionality may roll out internationally.
What is happening
According to recent certifications from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), a special version of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ will support BeiDou satellite messaging.
This feature allows two-way text communication even without cellular network coverage, making it useful for remote workers, hikers, and emergency situations.
Redmi’s move to introduce satellite support is notable, as previous Redmi and even premium K Ultra models lacked this feature. The inclusion of satellite messaging in a mid-range device may signal a broader shift towards making advanced connectivity more accessible.
The device is also expected to support 90W fast charging and house a significantly larger battery, possibly around 7000mAh. These improvements align with Redmi’s ongoing effort to offer higher value in its mid-range segment.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is likely to succeed the Note 14 Pro+, which featured a curved 1.5K OLED display, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 or MediaTek Dimensity chipset, and a 6200mAh silicon-carbon battery.
Leaked listings suggest the Note 15 Pro+ will be available under multiple model numbers across China, India, Thailand, and global markets. A POCO-branded variant is also expected.
