As the Redmi Note 9 series was just recently unveiled on 30 April, it was only a matter of time for the Malaysia launch to be announced. Today, Xiaomi Malaysia have officially stated that the Redmi Note 9 series will be launching here on 11 May 2020 on their Facebook page at 2PM.
To recap the tech-specs, there are two Redmi Note 9 variants - a 4GB + 128GB and a 6GB + 128GB model. Both phones also feature different chipsets as the vanilla version carries a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, whereas the pro version is using a Snapdragon 720G chipset. Despite that, both phones carry the same battery pack of 5020mAh battery but with different fast charging speed (18W vs 30W).
As the name suggests, the pro version has better tech specs sporting a 6.67-inch DotDisplay, a 64MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP quad rear camera, and a 16MP front camera as a cutout dot on the display (hence DotDisplay). The Redmi Note 9 has a slightly smaller 6.53-inch DotDisplay, alongside a respectable 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP quad rear camera, and a 13MP selfie snapper.
In terms of pricing, the Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro could cost ~RM855 and ~RM1156 respectively. Knowing Xiaomi's reputation, we wouldn't be too worried about it being too overpriced. Until then, stay tuned for our official coverage at TechNave.com.
