Redmi brand manager declares gaming phones doomed, might not launch Redmi K60 Gaming

Is there a reason you need to buy a gaming phone? I'd say yes since most gaming phones come with superior cooling solutions, which you'd need as some games cause our devices to become scorching hot. But Redmi's brand manager says that gaming phones are doomed as a concept.

According to Lu Weibing, the Xiaomi 13 alone can deliver superior video quality and gaming experience than "e-sports phones", which likely refers to gaming phones. He goes on to declare that we don't need gaming phones in 2023 and that they are "doomed to die". This suggests that regular flagship devices would be comparable to gaming phones, thus making them irrelevant.

Some believe that Lu Weibing's statements could indicate that there won't be a Redmi K60 Gaming in 2023. Sources have spotted three Redmi K60 series devices on China's 3C website with the model numbers 22122RK93C, 23013RK75C, and 22127RK46C. Allegedly, neither of these phones are the Redmi K60 Gaming. For reference, the Redmi K50 Gaming's model number is 21121210C.

Of course, a gaming phone isn't just about performance. Instead, it's the special hardware and software features that make them stand out. But what do you think, are gaming phones really relevant? Share your comments on our Facebook and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
