For those interested in retro games, Retroid Pocket is a brand you may want to pay some attention to. The company sells handheld consoles specifically intended to play retro games, and its latest model is the Retroid Flip 2.
Based on the teaser, the Retroid Flip 2 features the same form factor used by flip phones. The result is a Nintendo DS-style design, sans the second screen at the bottom. Instead, the console has its display on top and the controls at the bottom section. It has two analogue sticks, a D-pad, and the typical XYAB buttons. There's also a Select, Home, Start, and Power button.
Retroid Pocket hasn't revealed the other specs for this device, but it should come with a Snapdragon chipset. For reference, the Retroid Pocket 5 launched late last year featured a Snapdragon 865 chipset. This is a much older flagship Qualcomm chipset released in 2019, which would make the console more affordable.
While the Retro Flip 2 is unlikely to launch in Malaysia, you might be able to get it from Shopee or Lazada. In fact, the Retroid Pocket 5 can be found on both platforms. What is your favourite retro game? Let us know in the comments below!
