When it comes to some houses, IP cameras and CCTVs could have corners it can't cover. But what if there's a mobile camera? To address that, Ring is developing the Always Home Cam, a small flying drone that can patrol your house for you.

According to Engadget, the Always Home Cam can follow a patrol path that goes from room to room. It can be programmed to watch over specific areas or items, so you can use it to check something like whether you've left the windows open. As part of the Ring ecosystem, you can integrate it with other Ring sensors that can trigger its patrol routine if a sensor is tripped.

Unlike the typical flying drone you often see, you can't manually fly this drone. However, you can monitor what the drone sees via the Ring app. You can also use the app to program the drone's flight paths. Along with the collision-avoidance system, the drone has a reduced chance of running into walls. Another feature it has is that it will automatically return to the base station for charging.

The Ring Always Home Cam is expected to be available in 2021 and will retail for USD 250 (~RM1042). Unfortunately, you will most likely have to import it if you're interested in getting one. With that said, do you think this kind of security is needed for your home? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
