Recently, there was a viral post on X about a user’s driver's license. According to the post, the user keyed in all correct details in her MyJPJ app. But what happened after that was shocking. Instead of her photo, a Chinese woman’s photo appeared in her place.

For your information, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) pointed out that the avatar on the driver’s license in the MyJPJ app was wrong and it was not a leak or misuse of personal information. Plus, JPJ issued a statement today apologising for the mistake in which another person's profile picture was mistakenly printed on the driver's license.

In addition, JPJ stressed that this case was not due to the leakage or misuse of personal information. The statement explained that this occurred during regular maintenance of the system by the technical team.

"After discovering the error, we immediately corrected and improved the matter. We also improve the system from time to time to provide people with the best digital services."

The statement assures that there is no system abuse or personal information theft in the MyJPJ app. On the contrary, all information is kept securely. Hopefully, this is just an honest mistake on the authority’s part. At this point, Malaysians already have enough data leak issues to deal with.
