Do you play Roblox? If your answer is yes, this news might intrigue you. It seems that the company behind the game could introduce an in-game call feature soon. According to the announcement, the feature will arrive at the end of the year.
On top of that, this feature will be accessible for players over 13 years old. Dubbed “Connect”, this new feature allows you to call players on your “friends list”. You can also convey your facial expressions through your avatar. According to Roblox’s blog post, it says:
"Behind the scenes, we’re essentially packaging a Hollywood-style motion capture studio into something that runs on a mobile phone or laptop – without the need for equipment or motion-tracking dots. The device’s camera is all that’s needed to capture motion and translate it in real-time."
Moreover, Roblox also hinted towards a possible immersive experience like the metaverse. For instance, you might be able to meet your friends virtually in "a shared immersive space", have a conversation, sit together by a campfire, or stand beside a waterfall. We have yet to confirm other details on this matter, but it is exciting to see what the company has in store.
