As Intel readies their next generation of processors, companies around the world are in waiting mode to see how the new code-named Kaby Lake processors will perform. They include Microsoft, as their Surface device is up for a refresh this year. News are reporting that the update to thetwo in one tablet, Surface Pro 5, is now set to be released in September rather than the middle of the year as expected.

The Kaby Lake processors are built using the 14nm process, similar to the current Skylake chip, but are more powerful. Mass production of Kaby Lake is expected to start later this quarter. Other rumored specs for the Surface Pro 5 include a 4K UHD display, a higher capacity battery, an improved Surface Pen and a USB Type-C port.

The design of the Surface Pro 5 should be the same as the current Surface Pro 4, along with the detachable keyboard cover. We may see new designs and materials used for the cover, alongside new accessories for the Surface Pro 5. Look out for more info here at TechNave.
