If there's one area of gaming that hasn't really been making many strides, it would be virtual reality. Sony launched its PlayStation VR in late 2016 but most Sony PS4 users don't have an interest in it. Still, it's clear that Sony hasn't given up on having success in VR, if rumour of a possible PlayStation VR 2 is to be believed.

According to TechBriefly, the PlayStation VR 2 could be released along with the launch of the PlayStation 5 later this year. Supposedly, Immersive VR Education was the company that confirmed this in a financial report that included mentions of the new headset. Indeed, compatibility with the upcoming PS5 would give people the incentive to purchase it.

There is also a rumour that a presentation of the PlayStation 5 will be held in New York on 5th February 2020. This is when the PSVR2 is expected to also be announced. More importantly, if this were true, is that we may be able to get some news on the two products' design and tech specs.

Keep in mind that these are unconfirmed rumours so you shouldn't count on it being real. Having said that, a new PSVR is certainly long overdued and we'd love to see one that offers new features.
