It's about time for Sony to present the Xperia 5 IV after the launch of Xperia 5 III happened for almost a year. With that said, the latest rumour of the device has come at the right time. One of the things has even given us a clue on the launch timeline.

According to a leakster, the Xperia 5 IV will feature the TSMC-made Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Therefore, we can expect the device to arrive after Qualcomm launches the new version of the chip. However, the chip's existence hasn't even gotten confirmed by the semiconductor company, so we have to wait for that to happen first.

Besides that, it's claimed that the device will allegedly sport a 6.1-inch screen and become heavier at 180g with Gorilla Glass Victus on both sides. Meanwhile, the primary camera will use the 12MP IMX557 sensor featured on Xperia 5 II, with the other two sensors being a 12MP IMX663 and a 12MP IMX363. Lastly, the phone will also keep the 3.5mm audio jack and have a higher battery capacity compared to its predecessor.
