Rumours: Apple dropping the "S" for next year's iPhone series

Now that we got the Apple iPhone 7 rumours are out of the way, it's time for a new wave of rumour and this time, it's about the 10th Anniversary iPhone which is dubbed as the 'iPhone 8' according to an employee in Israel. Why is this worth mentioning? Well, because according to him, the iPhone 8 will be “different”.

We have talked about this several times before the iPhone 7 series was announced, anyway, although there's still a year to go for next year; the office branch in Herliya, Israel has already started building a hardware for the next flagship. The employee aforementioned earlier, who spoke privately to Business Insider gave some vague remarks on how much “different” it will be from the current iPhone, especially on the supposedly radical design. This rumour actually tally with many of our previous iPhone 8 rumour news, which is Apple planning to go back to the glossy glass body design without any physical buttons..

Another thing interesting to note is that the name given by the employee was called iPhone 8, normally, following Apple's tradition it should be called the iPhone 7s next year but that isn't the case. But since Apple “is” going for a new look, perhaps that is why there won't be an “S” for the name next year.

The iPhone 8 is also said to have wireless charging, which Apple is trying to “perfect” it. It'd be interesting to see how they will innovate the technology to another level, but do also take this with a grain of salt as this is way too early for speculation. So until then, stay tuned for more news at Technave.com.
