Usually, when we write rumoured news about the Apple iPhone 8, it would usually be about render concepts or leaks from various websites. However, what we have here today is a bit special because one of Apple’s manufacturer, Winstron have shared some interesting tidbits about the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus.

According to Wistron CEO Robert Hwang, he mentioned that Apple is planning to launch three models which are the iPhone 7s, 7s Plus, and of course, the much-talked 10th anniversary iPhone 8 this year in September 2017. During his stockholder’s meeting, it was revealed that the 7s and 7s Plus models have not changed much. However, all the three models will have wireless charging capability, as well as improving the IP rating to 68. Currently, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus IP rating is 67, which means the new models can now go as deep as 5 feet underwater for 30 minutes instead of 3 feet.

"Assembly process for the previous generations of [iPhones] have not changed much, though new features like waterproof and wireless charging now require some different testing, and waterproof function will alter the assembly process a bit."- Robert Hwang, CEO, Wistron

Having a wireless charging and IP68 rating on the phone could potentially change the game, but that remains to be seen because we have no idea how Apple’s wireless charging works. Previous rumours say that Apple has found a way to charge wirelessly from 10m away from a wireless charging station, but let’s just take this with a pinch of salt.

But what do you think? Will Apple be able to “revolutionize” something innovative again? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more Apple news at TechNave.com.
