For those who are looking for an action cam, there is no better brand to invest with than GoPro. They have been the number one name in action cameras, and they have just announced their new lineup during the recently ended Photokina 2016, which includes the Hero5 Black and Hero5 Session. What is surprising however is that the new line will be coming to Malaysia soon, as in next week!

There will be two new models coming to Malaysia – the GoPro Hero5 Black, and the Hero5 Session. For the features of the camera, the former shoots 4K video at 30 frames per second and 1080p video at 120 fps (like the previous Black version), but now it has a two-inch touch display in the back, and it boasts simplified controls. It also has three microphones and will automatically adjust to use the one with the best sound coming in. The microphone is also used for voice control, as now one can just say the record command, rather than fumbling for the buttons. It can also now tag the video with GPS co-ordinates as the radio is now built-in.

The Hero5 Session meanwhile shares the same 4K recording function, voice control and more. It is still waterproof to 33 feet without a case, and it will still work with all the existing mounts in the market. It only has 10 megapixel to the 12 megapixel sensor in the Hero5 Black, but it is an upgrade over the last model’s 8 megapixel.

According to GoPro, the Hero5 Black is to be priced at RM 1,849 while the smaller Hero5 Session goes for RM 1,399. No news if the Karma will be coming to Malaysia, but we definitely will ask the local distributor if they are bringing in the foldable drone.
