Rumours: Google “Andromeda” combines Android/Chrome into a single OS

We are expected to see something special this coming 4th October, as Google readies to launch several new items. One of them is apparently a new software initiative, which Google is calling “Andromeda”, an Android/Chrome hybrid OS.

Select users of the HTC Nexus 9 and the Pixel C have been using the new OS as part of an internal test by Google. The new OS may share features seen in Chrome and Android, but it is said to be a totally new OS, rather than just a mashup of the two. The idea of Android getting into the codes of ChromeOS has been discussed for quite some time - and this may be the result of those talks.

Keep your calendar free on the 4th of October, as we see what new things Google will be launching, or just stay tuned to TechNave as we bring more info from Google.
