Rumours: HTC U 11 specs leak but no headphone jack in sight.

The title says it all. It would seem that HTC is jumping on the no-headphone bandwagon with their upcoming flagship device, the HTC U 11. Instead, the device will include a USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter so there’s no need to chuck away those high-end headphones yet.

Perhaps the decision to lose the jack was to make room for a cool new feature dubbed the “Edge Sense” where the phone’s edges are touch sensitive and will be able to perform actions based on maybe gestures or perhaps some squeezing actions. Not much else is known about this feature but we are certainly on our toes for this one.

Other than those two above features, the standard specs are mostly leaked from a snapshot from what looks like to be the retail packaging for the U 11. Below is what we can make out from the image:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor

  • 4GB/6GB RAM

  • 64GB/128GB expandable storage

  • 5.5” QHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5

  • 12MP f/1.7 main camera with 16MP front camera

  • Features fingerprint scanner, dual nano SIM docks, IP57 water resistance

  • Supports 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC

From what it can be seen, the HTC U 11 is going to be quite a powerhouse with really cool features to boot. Especially the Edge Sense feature which will hopefully justify the removal of the headphone jack. Fingers crossed.

With that said, the HTC U 11 will be officially announced in a few weeks on 15 May 2017. However please note that there is no indication that this phone will arrive in Malaysia yet but don’t lose hope and stay tuned to TechNave.com for any news and updates on Malaysian announcement and pricings.
