Rumours: Is Microsoft slowly giving up on Windows Phone?

Do you like Minecraft? We like it too and looking back at its past accomplishments, it has gotten so big that it made its way to the mobile community; and becoming one of the top-selling titles on both iOS and Android, but not Windows Phone. Why is that?

Well, according to Windows Central news, reports have it that the Minecraft Pocket Edition (Windows Phone version) will not receive anymore updates and patches, as there are barely anyone playing the game on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 mobile devices. Ouch, that’s a bit sad but at least it will still on sale in the Windows Phone app store.

It doesn’t spell disaster to Microsoft yet, though, but this does indicate that there Windows Phone users may be shrinking down, thus causing a lack of developer support for the app. In fact, Windows Phone’s market share was just only a mere 0.3% in Q3 of 2016.

For Microsoft to continually support apps in their mobile devices, they will need support of Window Phone users; but in turn, Window Phone users will need app support to continue using. Are you one of them? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more Microsoft news at Technave.com.
