The LG G5 was the company’s first foray into the modular smartphone market – and it did not really catch on like fire among enthusiasts and consumers. The upcoming LG V20 is reported not to have a modular system – rather it will have a removable back that allows access to the battery.

When we say removable back – we meant only a partial removable panel, according to the reports. A render on Android Authority reveals that the back panel can be opened – at least half of it – for users to have access to the battery and what we conjure the SIM slots and memory slot as well.

The renders are not official, but we may just see the return of removable backs on flagships with the LG V20. Stay tuned to TechNave as we bring more information on this matter in the near future.
