Leica is a brand that has always bucked against the mainstream and usually play with their own rules. The upcoming Leica M-D Type 262 is a proof of that. While other manufacturers place LCD display at the back of the camera, Leica instead is omitting that feature totally. The price will also make you bleed – it’s set to be priced at USD 6700 (~RM 26220).
This is not Leica’s first foray into taking out the back LCD, as the previously limited run of the Leica M Edition 60, a camera that was created for its 60th anniversary. The new model however will be a production model, and will be available for purchase by consumers (with enough moolah in the bank that is).

Instead of the LCD display, Leica will be replacing it with an ISO selection wheel, mimicking the design style of the original Leica M of yesteryear. The new camera is expected to arrive on store shelves in May.
