Rumours: Lenovo to go all Moto with their smartphones?

A report that came out from Campaign Asia suggests that Lenovo will stop producing smartphones under their own brand. This may see the death of the Lenovo smartphone brand, or in another word, consolidation of brands by Lenovo.

We are seeing more Moto phones being produced by the company rather than the Lenovo Mobile sub-brand, and the same report says that the sales performance in the home country is not as encouraging as before. The Moto brand is stronger overseas, and that is probably one of the reasons why Lenovo is shifting brands around.

While PC is still the mainstay for Lenovo, mobile is a market that too big to ignore. Going forward, Lenovo is reportedly planning a slow transition from a hardware maker to a "customer-oriented company focusing on devices with artificial intelligence and cloud services."
