Surface Phone concept
Do you remember the days of the flip phones? Well, it’s said that Microsoft is developing something similar, an unknown Surface Phone that could be “the next big thing”. Moreover, the so-called Surface Phone has “around” for about four years now, and with a new patent submitted by Microsoft last week, things should get really interesting.
As seen in the patent application, it mentions a device that can be folded into 2; how this is done is that the device is supported by several hinges located at the side edge of the phone; and this allows the device to actually fold to each other and even rotate. Check out the images below:
Of course, most of the time concepts from patent applications don’t always make it to the final stages of the product. But the fact remains that this is the only device that has a folding capability in the works by Microsoft, and who knows; maybe they could bring back to the flip phones of the 90’s and change the game.
