Rumours: More Webe leaks, this time, full details available for the Pioneer invite-only plan

The exclusive mobile plans we have been dying to get from Webe may not have released yet, but the folks at Lowyat.net discovered a Webe invitation page that is supposedly only for Webe invited individuals. Said page is now unavailable but you can see it for yourself below. The page reveals the name of the plan being the Pioneer plan and is meant for staff to try out from 31 March 2016 to 6 May 2016. After 31 July 2016, these subscribers will be converted to the normal consumer plans which are set to be announced and revealed on 1 August 2016. We've since confirmed this with TM staff who said they've registered for the WeBe starter kit already.

The missing Pioneer page?

Details of the plan include 20GB of Internet data, 1000 minutes of local calls and 1000 domestic SMS priced at RM10.60. Oddly enough, if the subscriber wants to share data through a hotspot, they will need to pay RM6.36 for 2 hours of hotspot usage for a maximum of 5 connected devices. Another interesting information is when the user hits the 20GB quota; their Internet speed will be throttled to 128kbps instead of the standard telco practice of 64kbps. Besides that, Pioneer plan subscribers will not be able to carry forward their unused data and have two types of Data Roam Passes.

WeBe 2G / 3G coverage

The Webe 2G and 3G network coverage seems to be fairly wide, maybe because they are riding on the Celcom network. But their 4G coverage is still a bit lacking, because Webe is relying on the 850MHz spectrum instead of the standard 1800MHz/2600MHz. No news on the previously leaked plan but we should know more in the coming months. As always with such rumours, do take it with a pinch of salt, but if they are true, we shouldn't have to wait too long to find out more.
