Rumours: New Microsoft Surface Book 2 going back to laptop form instead of 2-in-1?

According to sources from an anonymous supply chain, Microsoft is ready to release a new Surface Book 2 and it’s already in mass production as we speak. But here’s a plot twist, it’s said that the Surface Book 2 won’t be a 2-in-1 but a pure laptop, unlike the first Surface Book.

If true, why did Microsoft decided to pull that stunt? Well, it could be that because they didn’t want the customers to get confused between the Surface Book series and Surface Pro series (which are 2-in-1s), so we think that’s a good call. And since it’s not detachable, it could also be cheaper than the predecessor at $1000 (around RM4443). Tech-specs wise, there is little information about it, except it will come in a magnesium- aluminum alloy body and has a 13.5-inch display.

Do you think Microsoft is making the right move? Are you looking forward to it? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more Microsoft news at TechNave.com.
