Rumours: Nintendo NX will be both a home and a portable console

News are spreading online that the upcoming Nintento NX console will not just be a console designed for the home – it will be a portable gaming device as well.

According to the report, the console will mainly function as a portable device – something like the current generation Nintendo 3DS. It may just have one screen on the do however. What makes this console different than the others is that once the player reaches home, they can dock the NX to a home dock, detatch the side controllers, and continue playing on the big screen at home. The two controllers that detaches can then be the game’s wireless controller for playing comfortably on the couch. It will be powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra X1 processor – the same chip that is in the NVIDIA Shield Android TV Console and the Google Pixel C tablet.

We may see something that will revolutionize the gaming industry, and perhaps see portable gaming paradigm change. The Wii and the Wii U are good steps, but the upcoming console may just be the turning point. Plus we may also see a push for mobile, thanks to the popularity of Pokemon Go.
