Rumours: No plans for 4K display by Samsung and LG in 2016

If you’re a Samsung or LG fan and hoping that they will include 4K display on their smartphones in the future, well it’s not going to happen. And it’s not that they don’t know how to do that, but both of the big giants have decided to pass that...at least according to a Korean publication source.

We don’t know if that’s true or not, since neither Samsung and LG officially stated that. But one of the reasons for adopting the 4K display for their smartphones is because the market for it seems too niche at the moment, and they would prefer to focus more on improvising the power draw and outdoor visibility of their current display lines (the 1440p panels).

Well in any case, Sony is currently sole smartphone manufacturer that offers 4K display resolution with their Sony Xperia Z5 Premium for the time being. It's possible that all smartphones will eventually have that technology one way or another, but for now, we expect this to not be the case for early 2016.
