Phablets seem to be all the rage especially for smartphone makers who haven't ever made any which is why rumours about a phablet from Nokia sound so juicy. Recently, rumours have surfaced about the Nokia phablet in that it would be called the Nokia Bandit (previously we heard it would be Bendit, but this makes more sense). According to some sources the Nokia Bandit is currently being tested internally, with tech specs for it including the following:

  • Quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor
  • 6-inch 1080p display
  • 20MP rear Camera
  • Windows Phone GDDR3

According to leaked pics the Nokia Bandit would have the same polycarbonate body and design as other Nokia Lumia smartphones with the main focus of the Bandit being the 6-inch 1080p display. This of course means that the Nokia Bandit should come out after the Windows Phone GDDR3 update comes out as it is the only version of the operating system which supports full HD 1080p. This probably means that the Nokia Bandit phablet would only be available later in 2013 but we're still in the dark about when it would be available for Malaysia. Unfortunately no pricing details are available just yet. Even the name Bandit would likely be just a codename as the current trend for Nokia Lumia smartphones is to go for numbers rather than names with the Bandit likely being called the Nokia Lumia 1030.
