Rumours : Nvidia refreshing their SHIELD Android TV device?

New-NVIDIA-Shield-Android-TV-Box.jpgIf you are not aware, NVIDIA is also player in the mobile and living room space, through their product SHIELD Android TV. Now we have a report saying that NDIVIA will be refreshing the device for 2017, and will come in two different sizes as well when it is expected to be announced during CES 2017.

The looks of the new model does not differ much with the current generation of the SHIELD, so what we can expect is the updated internals, which is most likely running NVIDIA’s TEGRA processor. The new gamepad however brings to the table a new design, with a more geometric look than the previous model. As a recap, the previous model comes with 3GB of RAM, paired with NVIDIA’s TEGRA X1 processor, as well as up to 500GB of storage. It is 4K media ready, as well as capable enough to play games on any big screen TV.

While this news may be of a small significance as NVIDIA’s market in the living room is small, it is relatable as Nintendo’s next generation TV console will be powered by NVIDIA, and this may be a sign of things to come for the Japanese game company. Stay tuned to TechNave as we bring more news on the NVIDIA Shield TV.
