We may just need to wait a month or so for confirmation of Olympus’s next wave of products. Photokina 2016 is upon us, and we can expect an avalanche of new announcements from major camera manufacturers then. The scoop is that the upcoming E-M1 Mark II will come with 4K recording. Also, a new lens will be launched at the same time.

For the Olympus E-M1 Mark II, the design is rumoured to be similar to the current Olympus E-M1, but we can expect new features underneath the camera body itself. It is reported that it will feature the Olympus Pen-F 20-megapixel sensor, 4K video recording, Dual SD-Card slots, and a handheld high-resolution mode that combines a few shots into one high resolution final image.

The lens that is expected to be launched at the same time meanwhile is a superzoom lens, which overs a focal range of 12-100mm in 35mm measurement, with a constant aperture of f/4.0. This lens will also be parked under the PRO line, making it a lens to get for serious photography in the Micro FourThirds world.
