The clamshells are coming back (sort off), and they will be powered by Android. Samsung’s policy of creating devices for just about every market is well known, and for the Chinese market, the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 will be the second generation Android-powered clamshell from the manufacturer, according to new promotional images at least.

From TENAA’s filing, the phone should feature a 3.8-inch touchscreen display and it should be powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm processor with 2GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It should also receive an 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 5-megapixel camera on the front, microSD support, and a 2000 mAh battery. It should be running Android 6.0.1 out of the box.

The promo photos shows that the phone will be coming in gold – a favourite colour for China – and it will have the speculated specs as from TENAA. Will Samsung buck trend and bring this phone outside of China? Maybe not – but it will definitely a breath of fresh air for phone designs if they did.
