New reports are coming out on next year’s Samsung Galaxy S8. It says that there is a big possibility that the upcoming flagship smartphone from Samsung will feature capacitive buttons all around – even for the volume buttons.

We have talked about how Samsung is going to feature their digital assistant quite prominently with the next smartphone. That digital assistant is said to have a dedicated button on the phone itself for users to invite as and when needed. Now however there are reports saying that Samsung will be chopping off a design element that has been a staying force for their smartphone line - the home button.

Samsung is apparently intending to replace the home button with software keys that may be customizable according to the user’s needs. Of course the question is - where will the fingerprint scanner for as there is no home button? The answer could be the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which allows the scanner to live under the glass rather than needing direct contact with the finger.

The same report also says that Samsung may opt for capacitive buttons for the power and volume keys but do take these news with a grain of salt.

Will these rumours come to fruition? Or will it just stay as rumours? Stay tuned to TechNave to find out more.
