Rumours: Samsung to Reveal Galaxy NX - Android powered Mirror-less Digital Camera

While Samsung have already created an Android powered digital camera in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Camera, it hasn't really had as much of an impact as hoped. While the pseudo-DSLR introduced Android smartphone connectivity and other functions for a digital camera, the camera itself didn't come up to par, often being compared to a hyped-up point-and-shoot. With the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, there isn't really that much of a reason to go for the Samsung Galaxy Camera, which is why this rumour about an Android powered Samsung Galaxy NX sounds so plausible.

Samsung's NX series of mirror-less digital cameras are definitely much better cameras than the pseudo-DSLR Samsung Galaxy Camera, and offer interchangable lens using the NX mount system. Supporting this rumour even further is a quote from Samsung CEO J.K. Shin who said, "Samsung will release (their) latest mirrorless camera that runs on Google's Android software." Right on time, a number of Galaxy NX images surfaced online.

In terms of tech specs the only detail available is the fact that the Galaxy NX may use a 20.3MP APS-C sensor and NX mount systems. No exact details on pricing or availability but the Galaxy NX could show up at the upcoming Samsung Premiere event this 20 June 2013.
