The dream of unfolding your smartphone into a bigger display may be coming soon, if the reports coming from online sources are to be believed. Samsung is reportedly gearing up to release their first foldable smartphone sometime early next year.
According to the report, the concept of a foldable smartphone is not new for Samsung as they have been developing it for the past three years. The idea is to have a 5 inch smartphone to be unfolded to become a larger device with a 7 inch display.
The report also says that the device will fold in half like a wallet, and it will use Samsung’s OLED expertise to create the folding display. The smartphone is nearing production according to the same report, and is expected to be out by January 2017.
